[White Tiger] I've had this written for a couple months now, but the future's looking as bleak as it is now so I might as well post it now. Due to the increasing difficulty to continue playing this game as a non-varium player at the level cap, I have decided to go into semi-retirement. Of course, I will acknowledge my duties on the EpicDuel Wiki and will be available as I am now to assist you and I will continue to make videos for YouTube when new, significant content is released. All this means is that you will no longer see me online or battling daily. I will be sure to log on every time there is a release to see if any significant progress is made in EpicDuel and to make videos, if available. If in around 6 months time no significant progress is made to balance the gap between varium and non-varium players, I will announce my permanent retirement from EpicDuel. If you have completely lost a hold of time, if the developers haven't noticed what they're doing wrong and make significant progress to fix it, I will no longer be with EpicDuel on or around June 29th, 2012.

[White Tiger] I am truly disappointed with EpicDuel today as it is the first time in 2 years I've actually seen a player that has reached the level cap and didn't have the slightest clue how to actually play. How is this possible you say? He purchased varium and had all of the latest equipment. Words cannot express how I feel when investing $35 into a game can take you that far and replace all of the skill and experience of others that haven't invested money but rather years of their time following, learning and experiencing the game. But I do suppose I felt it too after JariTheMighty lost in the Frysteland War to someone that bought their war to the top.

[White Tiger] You know what I just noticed today? EpicDuel (Artix Entertainment) and Glitch (Tiny Speck) have quite different definitions of what it means for a game to be in its "testing" phase. For EpicDuel, you have a game that is considered as "finished" and "released", meaning any updates are just additional add-ons. You pay for what's already in the game. For Glitch, it means the game is nowhere near "finished" and "released" (which is why they unreleased the game back into testing), meaning updates are major changes to the game and its system. They do not believe in requiring someone to pay to "test" a game, although you are able to purchase subscriptions mainly as a donation if you enjoy the game and would like to support it. I realized this when Glitch temporarily released a totally unfinished, bare-bone new feature today for the purpose of feedback and bug/exploit catching from its testers (all players). Once data was collected, the feature was removed to be finished and fixed accordingly. In EpicDuel, this stage of testing would only be available to its closed testing group, rather than the phase "testers" in-game. After it has gone through the group, it is fixed and then released to the public.

[White Tiger] :3 I love seeing some great and knowledgeable players of Glitch become a part of the Tiny Speck team as Player Support Associates. Some of the list include Jobynana, Essie Kitten, Herp Derp, and Rascalmom. And if you've been following me on Twitter from when I first started Glitch, you would know that Herp Derp was the creator of the unofficial Glitch-Strategy Wiki and Blog, while Rascalmom had the most achievements in the original Beta. Now, if you're wondering about what I think about the latest ED release, I'll just say one thing. Quite some time ago, I was told if I had nothing good to say, say nothing at all, so with no offence to any of the developers, I'll end this post here.

[White Tiger] So, I come home from school to see this at the top of my Twitter page: "No joke: Glitch is going back to beta, so we can make it better, faster. Intrigued? Here's what we're going to do: http://www.glitch.com/blog/2011/11/30/the-big-unlaunching/" I must say, you must admire Tiny Speck's dedication in wanting improve the game so much they no longer think it should be considered "stable" and "ready" for a live release. Don't worry original beta testers, I've heard that the "Special Item That Only Beta Testers Get" aka Senior Funpickle will not be given away but something else will (unconfirmed). If you purchased a subscription and no longer wish to have to for a game still in testing, they are offering FULL refunds from now until December 21st. As Stewart Butterfield (Stoot Barfield) said, "Getting more money from people right now is not our priority; making an awesome game is." And since that is such as epic quote, it deserves a spot on my Epic Quotes page.

[White Tiger] I must say, I am disappointed at the latest release. There's nothing for high level non-varium players in the birthday shop, and some missions are impossible for me to complete. Well, time to head over to Glitch, level up a couple more levels, gain more achievements and wait for the next release and hope there's something for me.

[White Tiger] Looking back, I don't think giving elites 20,000 varium was the best way to handle the situation. If it were me, I would probably have a NPC where every week, elites could obtain 250 free varium from said NPC. This way, it would encourage the elites to be more active with the game, and still earning close to unlimited varium. Alternatively (a bit harder to code), every week elites obtain 1+ wins, they could get a free ticket to spin a wheel of chance. By spinning, they would gain a random amount of either 100, 150, 200, 250, 300, 350, 400, 450 or 500 varium, for a minimum of approx. 400 varium/month and a maximum of 2000 varium/month. Both situations would encourage elites to be active, and the second one could also benefit other varium players in a different way. Tickets to spin the wheel of chance could be sold for founders at 250 varium/ticket and other players at 300 varium/ticket. They could either profit from their purchase of the ticket, or lose from the ticket. For it to be fair, all 9 prizes should have a 1 in 9 chance to get that prize. Expanding further on that, it could be turned into an arcade game where multiple wheel are available (varium and non-varium) for a chance to win great prizes such as a home, weapons, armors, credit amounts, etc..

[White Tiger] To be honest, I'm really not looking forward to level 34. I won't be able to NPC anymore due to not being able to win against Exile Soldier or Valery after the field medic nerf. I also will be meeting level 31s in Juggernaut battles and 4 extra stat mods and 1 extra skill point won't help me even the slightest bit if I meet a level 29+ varium player. With that said, you won't see me in a rush to get to level 34 unless they: Buff Field Medic or Fix Juggernaut to a point where I can compete.

• October 2^nd (12:34PM) - [White Tiger] Face it EpicDuel, the players aren't mature enough to handle a reset when the testing phases are over. They don't think about new players, only the current players. Sure, people on the leaderboards have worked hard to get there, but a simple Hall of Fame in-game recognizing those players is enough. I must be honest here, if a reset was mentioned last year, I would probably be against it but I've seen a reset happen and I've learned to accept it. Taking Glitch as an example, Clare was level 101 before the reset, Rascalmom had over 300 achievements and Fyxxen visited over 1350 maps. Don't you think those players spent a lot of time and effort obtaining those records? But they all accepted the reset with open arms, because they were representing the community aspect of Glitch, giving new players a chance to get on.

• September 9^th (11:45PM) - [White Tiger] I experienced my first bug today in Glitch. I reported the bug, as instructed by Jade, I got a warm and friendly reply in-game from Myles! (along with a short chat) and he's fixing it right now! Instant service, I love it :D (Btw, if any EpicDuel Staff is reading this, a Live Help channel is really useful. The way Glitch does it is they have volunteer player guides, along with staff checking the chat box to see if any player requires help, and gives it within minutes.) Anyways, onto something related to ED, I still need to see the new animations for Plasma Rain/Bludgeon and I'm excited to see what's coming next week. Launched in 2010/2011, Glitch is a MMO created by the Tiny Speck Team. As stated on their website, "This is not something you've seen before." and you can read how it's different than most MMOs on their About Page. Although the game is in closed beta testing, it has over 1200 maps to explore, over 300 achievements to obtain, and many more quests and items. I'm truly impressed with what their team of ~30 has done. If you're interested in testing this game, and you're over the age of 14, head over to their website and request an invite! If you are accepted and enjoy the game, add me as a friend :)

• May 27^th (6:09PM) - [White Tiger] Well, I guess I had a good run with Juggernaut battles. Now, I'm up for a challenge but 90% of my battles aren't challenges, they're certain death. I guess I'll go back to NPCs with 1vs1 and 2vs2.
• May 27^th (4:26PM) - [White Tiger] After playing a few Juggernaut battles, I notice the problem is still the same as the previous weeks. I lose 90% of the time if I don't go second. I must admit, level 30s are quite annoying but it's still worse when I can't put up a shield to save me from a 30-50 damage hit. I don't mind losing, but not having a chance was my original reason for not doing random 1 vs 1/Solo battles before.

Well, congratulations. You received slight balance with varium players, but knocked non-varium players off the face of Delta V.
